Lucy went to her first movie this afternoon - The Other Boleyn Girl (racy, I know). There's a theater in Arlington that has a baby-friendly movie matinée every Monday. Lucy slept through most of it, waking up when there were some horses galloping and to have a meal for herself at one point too. Here she is before the movie with her friend, Elle.

Reading with Daddy
Lucy started reading with Daddy over the weekend. They're working on Baby Faces right now, and are going to try to get through at least one page without tears next time...

Bathtime Revisited
Late to bed...
...late to rise.
Sometimes, when Lucy is hungry early in the morning, but after I've started getting ready for work, I'll bring her in to see her mother. After a brief feeding, Mom and Lucy typically doze off together for another few hours.
I snapped this a few mornings ago on my way out the door. It's uncanny how similar the two of them look when they're fast asleep.

Lucy's New Friends
Lucy had her closest interaction with the other babies in my mom's group yesterday. None of the babies quite knew what to do with each other, but they sure looked cute! Can you spot Lucy amongst the masses?
Another mom, Jen, and I noticed that our babies seemed to hit it off especially well - holding hands, almost looking at each other, etc. Ben (the other baby) is an older man at 10 weeks, but that didn't seem to phase either of them.

Thank You, Grammy!
Grammy Mopsy has been staying with us for the past three weeks, but Lucy and I took her to the airport this afternoon so that she could (finally!) get home to L.A. All three of us were so glad to have her here to help with late-night settling, the daily laundry, and myriad other household chores, not to mention all the moral support she provided Elliot and me as new parents. We'll miss her, and look forward to her next visit!

Paparazzi Prep
There sure were a lot of cameras taking pictures of Lucy at her baby naming. Here she is in her Uncle Henry's arms, fending off the latest onslaught...

Bottle Feeding
Below, you'll find a whole bunch of baby naming photos from earlier today. The ceremony was wonderful, and we were so glad to have Rabbi Morrison, our family, and our friends present. The photos give some sense of the happy event. This photo, however, comes from a few days ago, during one of Lucy's first bottle feedings. Some children, apparently, have difficulty going from mother to bottle and back. Our Lucy, however, doesn't seem to mind. As long as she's fed (and fed some more!), she's a happy baby.

Mommy Group
Lucy and I had our first mommy group class this morning. We met eight other babies and mommies, and even went out to lunch with them afterwards. Here's a shot of Lucy resting in her car seat after all the excitement.

Eating Well
Lucy went to the doctor yesterday for her two-week check-up, and is doing "brilliantly." She now weighs 9 lbs. 2 ozs., which means she's still gaining about 2 ozs. a day - twice what the doctor looks for. There's no risk of gaining too much right now. Our little lady is just doing a very good job of eating! Here's a shot of her post-feeding:

Happy Lucy
Over the past two days, we've noticed that Lucy has begun appeciating visual stimulation. She is especially fond of the UglyDoll my sister gave her last week. Here's a photo of her responding to the doll.
